These were the questions and results of the interview:
1. How was the communication between you and Julie - Did you think Julie provided sufficient information prior to and during to the event
Dressin Red: Yeah I think there was a great amount of communication. I was very informed as to what was happening at all time.
Arm Watches Fingers: I found our exchanges were of a highly professional standard, and that I was well informed of the event long before the night.
2. Did you feel supported - Did you feel like you could approach Julie with any concerns or questions you had prior to or during the event?
Dressin Red: Yes definitely, she seemed more than happy to help with everything.
Arm Watches Fingers: I felt I was very easily able to personally contact Julie with any questions I had, and felt very comfortable communicating with her.
3. How did you feel the decision-making regarding the event was - Did you feel like Julie let you have influence on the decision-making (laissez-faire/democratic decision-making)? Or did you feel like she made the decisions unilaterally (autocratic decision-making)?
Dressin Red: I felt I could have lots of influence. It didn’t feel at all autocratic as I got a chance to pick the rest of the line-up.
Arm Watches Fingers: I felt that besides the obvious rigidity of the concept (playing music in the dark), I had free reign over how I approached my set, and this was most important to me. I would have preferred to have had a longer time slot, but due to the strict nature of the under 18 event, this wasn’t a negotiable option.
4. Did you feel motivated prior to and during the event?
Dressin Red: Yes
Arm Watches Fingers: I did feel motivated about the event, mainly due to the format, which I’d never experienced before and so was excited to participate in.
5. Overall, do you think Julie was a good or bad manager? And why?
Dressin Red: She was very good. Very organised, knew what she was trying to achieve and kept in contact with me at all times. She was really nice and friendly on the day of performance and had lots of nice drinks and snacks in the green room.
Arm Watches Fingers: I feel that Julie was a very good manager, as prior to the event, as well as during it, she was easily approachable, and made sure that I was well informed about sound-checking, stage times, and other such information.
6. How do you think Julie could improve her management approach?
Dressin Red: I can’t think of anyway she could.
Arm Watches Fingers: Personally I have no suggestions; I felt the event was carried out in a very effective and professional manner.
7. Would you play at an event managed by Julie again?
Dressin Red: Yeah for sure.
Arm Watches Fingers: Yes I would definitely play at another event!
